Description

Advancing Girls’ Education in Africa (AGE Africa) is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing girls' education, agency, and leadership in Malawi. AGE Africa envisions a Malawi where all girls have equal access to education and the opportunity to reach their full potential. Through comprehensive, girl-centered programs, AGE Africa supports girls in rural communities to transition from primary school through secondary school and beyond. The organization provides need-based scholarships, life skills education through its locally developed CHATS (Creating Healthy Approaches to Success) curriculum, and alumnae mentoring to empower girls with the tools, confidence, and networks to shape their own futures. AGE Africa’s work addresses both financial and social barriers to girls’ education by combining direct support with systemic change. Its peer-led model builds girls’ agency, self-belief, and decision-making power, while engaging schools, families, and communities to create environments where girls can thrive. Founded in 2005, AGE Africa is a registered NGO in Malawi with offices in both Malawi and the United States. The organization partners with government, donors, and local stakeholders to ensure that its work aligns with Malawi’s national education and gender priorities, while remaining transparent and accountable in all operations and reporting.
