Description
The Association of European Parliamentarians with Africa (AWEPA) works in partnership with African parliaments to strengthen democracy in Africa, keep Africa high on the political agenda in Europe, and facilitate African-European parliamentary dialogue. AWEPA strives to strengthen African parliaments and promote human dignity. For 30 years, AWEPA has served as a unique tool for complex democratisation processes, from South Sudan to South Africa.

The AWEPA data covers all the programmes funded by the Netherlands MFA and started after 1 January 2016. The data follows the NL MFA guidelines for IATI and reflects internally committed budgets for project activities under own management and disbursements to partner organisations. In a later stage, AWEPA will start publishing the data of programmes funded by other sources.
