About HRIDAY: HRIDAY is a not-for-profit organization that aims to promote sustainable health, particularly among youth, in multiple settings including schools, colleges, workplaces, and the community at large. HRIDAY engages in multi-disciplinary research, multi-stakeholder capacity building and undertakes health promotion campaigns linked to the prevention and control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs). HRIDAY focuses on addressing NCDs from a health and development perspective, particularly in the context of Target 3.4 under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). HRIDAY has been instrumental in engaging youth from diverse backgrounds in supporting health promoting norms and policies. VISION Create an enabling environment through translational research that promotes the use of evidence-based strategies to achieve national priorities towards SDGs. MISSION By supporting an enabling policy environment through research, HRIDAY strengthens stakeholders to make informed choices that promote sustainable health and development. WHAT WE DO? 1. Research to inform health promotion strategies and community-based interventions. 2. Meaningfully involve young persons to be “Youth Health Ambassadors” for improving the health of society. 3. Embed needs and priorities of People Living with NCDs in policies and programmes. 4. Advocate and support healthy behaviours and foster an enabling environment for health promoting norms and policies. 5. Forge partnerships and build networks among multiple stakeholders for sustained health promoting initiatives. 6. Build capacities of diverse stakeholders to effectively address national health priorities through government programmes and policies. 7. Convene multi-sectoral consultations and dialogues with a focus on the prevention and control of NCDs.
