NatureFinance (NF) is Swiss non-governmental organization dedicated to aligning global finance with nature positive outcomes. NF formally operated as Finance for Biodiversity Initiative (F4B), an initiative established in 2019 with a core mission of increasing the materiality of biodiversity in financial decision making and so better align global finance with nature conservation and restoration. In June 2022, NF became a fully operational outfit, registered in Switzerland, building and expanding on F4B’s high-impact work and partnerships. Since then, our organization has rapidly become a leading voice in the emerging field of nature finance and the bioeconomy. Our work spans national and international levels, focusing on developing innovative financial mechanisms, policies, and metrics to channel investments towards nature-positive outcomes. Some of our key initiatives include: 1. Developing frameworks for sovereign debt instruments linked to nature performance, which have been piloted in several countries. 2. Advising governments and financial institutions on strategies to align economic policies with biodiversity conservation goals. 3. Conducting groundbreaking research on the economic risks of nature loss and the opportunities presented by nature-based solutions.
