UNABU stands for Umuryango Nyarwanda w’Abagore Bafite Ubumuga translated in English as the Rwandan Organization of Women with disabilities. UNABU is a non-governmental organization creted by women with disabilities and for women with disabilities in 2004 with a vision of ensuring women with disabilities enjoy equal and equitable opportunities and actively participate in the country development. Our mission consists of promoting gender equality and removal of various barriers which prevent women with disabilities to participate in the country development advocacy and empowerment of women with disabilities to become agent of change, to demand their right and to affirm their dignity as human beings. UNABU's main intervention focus on gender based violence as human right violation, human rights, economic empowerment and disability inclusion across 11 districts of Rwanda
