Data Quality
The University of the West of England, Bristol sends money/funding to the Kathmandu Medical College and Mothers and Infant Research Activities on the basis of quarterly reports of expenditure by each organisation. This funding can be subject to randomised audits by The National Institute for Health Research, to date neither it now UWE have been audited. The Kathmandu Medical College and Mothers and Infant Research Activities are required by the Government of Nepal to have their financial records audited annually. UWE can audit an individual or institution contracting as a research partner. The NIHR advises UWE to retain our records as they could be subject to audit. As yet UWE have never been audited by the NIHR. UWE has an internal audit every year which covers research and the auditors will pick out random projects to ask about. This one was selected. It wasn't rigorous but we have the records should the event occur.
